Shaunie O’Neal is speaking out about the bullying and violence that have been a central part of her hit VH1 show Basketball Wives.
This week after episode 9 aired which featured a race track altercation between Nia Crooks, Evelyn Lozada’s assistant, and Jennifer Williams. Nia believes Jennifer used her during her divorce from Eric Williams and has now moved on to new friends. The scene ended in a physical confrontation and Jennifer has announced a civil suit against Nia as well as battery charges.
I understand that the show is for entertainment and I’ve been a staunch supporter of it from day one. My issue with it now is that it’s a one-trick pony. The formula is stale and for me at least, it’s starting to negate the other positive things the ladies are involved in because “being about that life” etc. is the center piece.
Somebody has to grow up if they want to keep the show fresh and a ratings success.
Also, Keisha and Kenya should note, their names weren’t mentioned in the release. They are guest stars not considered key pieces of the cast. Think about that for a minute.
In the meantime, check out photos of Shaunie in Las Vegas on Friday night.
