Phil Jackson might have stepped into to phase three of his Hall of Fame career. Jackson is set to executive produce a new Showtime series that centers on a family that owns a professional basketball team. Something Jackson has a clear insight on because he coached the Lakers and is engaged to Jeanie Buss.
Jeanie is involved with the project as well. She is one of the executive producers on the project along with Linda Rabbis. Linda is the wife of Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis.
The series will be written and directed by Ron Shelton. He’s responsible for the 90’s basketball classic, “White Men Can’t Jump.”
The Buss family has owned the Lakers since the late seventies. There is a wealth of material there.
