NFL’s Oldest Cheerleader’s Story Headed To Film

Remember the NFL’s oldest cheerleader, 42-year-old Laura Vikmanis? Looks like Hollywood has taken an interest in her story.

New Line Cinema has acquired the life story rights of the mother of two along with a pitch provided by Emily Cook and Kathy Greenberg, whose credits include Gnomeo & Juliet and Ratatouille.

Interesting, they say this could be a “cheer” version of The Blindside. I don’t know if I’m interested in a dramatic version of her story but a comedy could be fun, Maybe not “Bring It On” fun (sorry, that has to be one of my FAVORITE cheer movies EVER, the original not the cheesy sequels) but entertaining.

Hmmm they also should stay away from 70’s TV movie style like, The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders film (although I secretly love this movie because I as I’ve shared before, I wanted to cheer for America’s team, but I digress)

yeah this was sooooo movie of the week on a Sunday night cheese. I have faith that New Line will put together an entertaining project. Maybe Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock could be the lead.
