On Monday during the Boston Marathon, two bombs exploded at the finish line, killing three people, including an 8-year old boy, and injuring more than 140 others. Following this tragic event, the city of Boston and it’s fans clearly have more pressing concerns than the end of the season meaningless game between the Celtics and the Pacers.
The NBA understands that and have canceled tonight’s scheduled game at TD Garden. Both the Celtics and Pacers are locked into their playoff positions- The Celtics at in the 7th seed, Pacers in the 3rd – so the outcome of the game doesn’t effect postseason play.
Below is video of the aftermath following the tragedy. Warning, their are some graphic scenes. The most incredible thing about the video is the reaction of runners, police and others who leap into to action to assist those that were hurt from the bombing. Even in tragedy you see the heart and courage of Americans.
