This is a scary story. Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos has been kidnapped in front of his home in Venezuela. Per reports, Ramos was approached by four gunmen outside his home and taken away. A source said that the kidnappers have yet to contact the family.
The 24 year-old just completed his rookie season in the MLB earning the league minimum of $414,500. Ramos was prepping to play in the Venezuelan winter baseball league.
These type of crimes have been occurring more frequently in the country as a quick way to get funds. In several cases, the victim was driven around while waiting for the family to produce the ransom.
Prayers for Wilson and his family that he’s found and reunited with his loved ones quickly.
