If there is only 1 topic in basketball I wish I never had to hear a discussion on again, it would be the Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant debate. At one point it seemed every 6’6 guard that was athletic had the “next Jordan” title hoisted on them. Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, LeBron James etc.
2012 Michael Jordan has weighed in, AGAIN on the topic. I emphasize 2012 Jordan because I’m not certain that 1998 Jordan would’ve made the following statement or even Washington Wizards Jordan.
Michael Jordan told Basketball author Roland Lazenby-currently working on an MJ book- that Kobe Bryant is the only player worthy of the “Jordan comparison.” Check out the deets:
It was as recent as last summer that Jordan also stated he felt that Kobe was better than LeBron James. I’m certain that it’s Kobe’s drive to be the best has a lot to do with MJ’s feelings. Competitors on that level understand the drive and recognize it in others. Similar to Mamba’s statement on Saturday following a Laker loss to the Clippers where he said the only other players in the league as competitive as me are Chris Paul and Derrick Rose.
So there you have it from the Basketball uber God himself. Can we just move on from this topic? Its so draining.
