Metta World Peace’s Back… Back Again

It’s only been one week since the NBA pre-season kicked off and LA Laker Metta World Peace, has already been making headlines and cracking smiles and laughs like crazy.

Let’s start with Saturday’s game vs. the Utah Jazz.

The ball goes out of bounds. MWP retrieves the ball from a young woman sitting behind the basket, leans down and kisses her hand! Don’t believe me?

WATCH:

When asked about it, World Peace told the LA Times:

“I just saw in her eyes that she liked the hustle,” World Peace said after the Lakers’ 99-86 preseason loss Saturday to the Utah Jazz at Staples Center. “I saw it in her eyes. We made eye contact.”

3 days prior, World Peace made us laugh again, when he told the LA Times that his new teammate Steve Nash should have his own show because of his quick offensive moves. Not just any show however, a Vegas magic show. With strippers involved.

“Nash should do a Vegas magic show, They should put his picture on the Flamingo hotel with a picture of him posing spinning the ball with his tongue out. There could be a bunch of strippers around him naked covering themselves with a hat.”

Had enough laughs yet? It doesn’t stop there. A week before that, Ron showed his admiration for Nash when he commented on his intelligence after practice to LA Times reporter Mark Medina:

Sources say he said it with a straight face.

MWP should really have his own show, or at least have a camera on him at all times. One thing’s for sure though, this is one of the most highly anticipated season for Laker fans, and I can’t wait to see what Metta will do next.

Some of my all time-favorite Ron Artest quotes:

“I’m just happy that Jesus, did not let me lose my teeth when I was twenty years old.”  To a reporter.

“Yeah I’m the president of the Celine Dion fan club.” On The George Lopez Show.

“Like what if you kept your baby teeth until the age of 18 or 20 then you lose them? That would look pretty bad. So I just think that he’s (Jesus) really brilliant that you lose your teeth when you’re a baby rather than lose it when you’re like 30 or 20. That has nothing to do with your question, but that was definitely on my mind.” To a reporter.

And if you feel like you still haven’t gotten enough of your World Peace dose for the day, here’s a look at some of his best:
