Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki supported his wife, Jessica Olsson Nowitzki on Saturday night as she co-chaired a benefit for MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation. The RE: DEFINE art auction was held at the Goss-Michael Foundation.
The event showcased pieces from several young British artists but the package that secured the benefits goal of $1 million was one that received the assist from Jessica’s personal All-Star. Dirk included himself in an auction package that included a postgame visit to the Mavericks locker room, autographs and pretty much anything else the buyer wanted.
“You can even meet Mark Cuban,” Dirk said modestly, amid chuckles from the crowd.
There was such an overwhelming interest that Dirk put the same offer out there twice bringing in $60,000. That’s called an assist!
