Matt Barnes Has A New Year’s Message For Gloria Govan, Derek Fisher & Rihanna

Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes always speaks his mind. Barnes is known as one of the NBA’s perennial bad boys but on New Year’s Eve, he showed off his softer side… kinda.

Matt’s message for 2016 was that 2015 was the worst year of his life, and listed several reasons for that, including: losing his estranged wife Gloria Govan – who he says he was “warned” about. His “snitch” ex-friend and teammate – that’s Knicks coach Derek Fisher. Drama with his head coach which caused him to be shipped out of the city he loves- Doc Rivers wasn’t having it, AND being lied on by a pop star, even though he had texts and photos… Hi Rihanna.

Thank God For 2016! 2015 hands down was the worst year of my life! * *Lost the women I loved,the mother of my kids, my Dogg.. I had to walk away from the only thing I’ve wanted, MY OWN FAMILY! “They call that karma” *To being traded away from a team & city I love! “They call that the business” *Lied on by a pop star Who’s lucky I stuck to the script & didn’t expose her lien ass Funny thing about texts & pics is they DONT LIE! “I Guess” “They call that getting played” *Last BUT NOT LEAST… Being stuck in the “triangle offense” w my ex & snitch, I mean former teammate & friend.. Who went behind my back, messed w my ex, got caught, got dealt w for being a snake, then ran & told the Police & NBA.. Instead of taken that ass whoopin like a man & kept it moving….! WHERE THEY DO THAT AT? Guess cause I didn’t SNITCH, I get a 2 game suspension by the league “They call that LIFE” WHEN IT RAINED, IT POURED in 15 All this played out like a bad reality show, a nightmare, for your amusement & entertainment! For you to critique, make fun of, crack jokes & laugh about.. “What I shoulda did” or what “y’all would have done” Hmmmm… I say all this not for sympathy, because I had a hand in all the bad $h!t that happened.. I was never perfect in my relationship, I didn’t see eye to eye w my head coach.. I was warned SEVERAL times about ole girl & I introduced love ones to people who I “thought were FRIENDS”… Lesson Learned!! This is for all of you who had a F@#%ed up year… To let you know I’m right there w you, We In this together! Soon after that message, Gloria Govan had her own message for the wrap up of 2015. Her’s was, you don’t start none, won’t be none because she can spill ALL the tea. She also stated how confusing it is to have her biggest hater claim they love her and drag her name through the mud.

There were times I thought 2015 would never end… And here we are just moments away from a new year. This quote could never hold as much truth as it does now!!! I sat back and and let people run their mouth about me, drag my name through the mud, proclaim love but really be my biggest hater. So proud of myself for not giving in. Not allowing them to take me out of my character. To stay true to myself and my faith. I realized that people will play the victim and be the fool because the truth requires change. Speaking of truth lords knows I can spill allllllll sorts of it. But the real truth of the matter is… I’m bigger then that, and people’s pettiness doesn’t deserve my energy. I am so happy to be who I am today. If you knew me from a year ago then you don’t know me at all. Allow me to reintroduce myself. ???? #happynewyear

Funny thing is, the day Matt’s suspension was announced, he posted a photo of himself, Gloria and their twin sons, saying throughout all the bull, this was his family. Guess that night ended differently than he planned.
