The first game of the NFL season kicked off with lots of star power. Performances of the night include No Doubt and Mariah Carey along with rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill. Queen Latifah performed the National Anthem. Some of your favorite NBA players were also in the stands (or showing their support via Twitter)
LeBron James posted a photo on Instagram of himself wearing a Cowboys jersey, Chris Bosh posted one of his Cowboys snapback as he viewed the game. While JR Smith posted a photo with his parents while in the stands.
Ratings wise, the airing was down 13% from last year’s opening featuring Packers vs. Saints. Probably due to the Democratic National Convention taking place with former President Bill Clinton being the key speaker of the evening.
