Are a pair of Jordans, a $700 watch and Paul George’s NBA All-Star ring worth 14 years of your life? 43-year-old Michael Lewis is about to find out.
Last April, Lewis was accused of stealing those items – the ring is worth $15,000- plus $20 cash from Indiana Pacers star Paul George’s home during the Hawks/Pacers playoff game. Lewis was caught shortly after his crime thanks to surveillance video. Lewis was convicted of burglary and will serve 14 years in prison—and two additional years of work release. The actual robbery was only worth six years, the other 10 years were added because he was a repeat offender.
