Magic Johnson discusses son EJ coming out, how he found out & what this means to sports [video]

Magic Johnson’s son EJ recently came out publicly. In an interview with TMZ, Magic opens up about his son EJ being gay. Discussing how long he’d known, how EJ came out to him and his feelings about the public’s reaction. Magic said he’s known for quite sometime that his son was gay. That he and Cookie sat him down to discuss it when he was about 12 or 13.

Kudos to Magic for putting the love of his son above everything. It almost feels as if this was planned, right? In part two of the interview, Magic discusses gay players coming out in sports, how he told his son that this was going to be bigger than him. And that he thinks it’s just a matter of time before a player comes out publicly in sports.

Magic and EJ also have the support of players like Kobe Bryant who recently said he thinks that it’s great Magic is openly supporting his son.

“Of course Magic is supportive of and loves his son. Why should anyone be surprised?”

Kobe says, “What I can’t tolerate is a lack of tolerance.”

I said the same. Check a few photos of EJ and all his fashion fierceness.
