For 13 years, Lance Armstrong has denied using PEDS. He’s filed lawsuits, turned on former friends, etc. But he has finally come clean on his use to Oprah in part one of her interview with him. Armstrong claimed the last time he used was in 2005. He also said his wins in 2009 and 2010 were clean.
“I didn’t invent the culture, but I didn’t try to stop the culture, and that’s my mistake, and that’s what I have to be sorry for, and that’s what something and the sport is now paying the price because of that,” he added. “So I am sorry for that. I don’t think — I didn’t have access to anything else that nobody else did.”
Lance also said he viewed the situation as one huge lie and that he was done calling people liars. Check the video for the moment Lance comes clean. Oprah pulls no punches and opened the interview with “THE question.”
Armstrong admitted that he was a bully, telling Oprah he wanted to hide the truth at all costs. He reflected on his past self and said, “Look at that arrogant prick.”
Interestingly, Armstrong said that he didn’t view himself as a cheater, and didn’t see himself as doing anything wrong at the time. He viewed it as “a level playing field.”
