Lakers Ron Artest & Wife, Kimsha Have Been Divorced Since 2009, Details Of His Alleged “Sexting”

Metta World Peace, the NBA player formerly known as Ron Artest, has always had an up and down relationship with his wife Kimsha. The two were high school sweethearts who married in 2003.  What most didn’t know (myself included) is that Ron and Kimsha have been divorced since 2009!

Our friends over at Black Sports Online tracked down the details:

We found out Ron quietly got divorced from Kimsha on June 30, 2009.  The couple shares joint custody of their 3 kids and their relationship is extremely amicable — we’re told they get along better than when they were married.

Interesting. That would mean that by the time Ron got to the Lakers, there were already divorced yet, he still included her in all the Laker festivties (including the parade, post game championship interviews etc.) That’s hot.

The couple was frequently in the news for their issues. Ron filed a domestic abuse charge against Kimsha years back when he was in Chicago (or was it when he was on suspension from the Pacers?) There were also separated once before but reconciled.

Then there was an incident in 2007 while he was with the Sacramento Kings where Kimsha filed charges against him (those charges were later dropped.) I guess that explains why him being on various red carpets with his “artist” and come of his Twitter commentary (oh and this alleged sexting scandal that Deadspin is “exposing” him with) isn’t really a big deal. He’s single like a dollar bill! The best part of all of this, their children get to enjoy both their parents in a healthier situation! Co-parenting rocks!!

The alleged details of the “sexting” situation are a bit odd. I’ll be honest, sounds like he was just trying to have a quick road hook up via Twitter. I don’t get that he was being “weird” as much as being direct. I could be wrong. But check out some of the alleged text conversations and let me know what it sounds like to you.

Ron: so when can we meet
Me:
idk?
Ron:
ill be in okc soon can i see u

Ron: You like to 69?
Me:
I mean like… what if someone really needs to fart. Then shit is awkward.
Ron:
Have u ever swallowed during getting eaten out?
Me:
No. I try not to snack while having sex. That is rude.
Ron:
Talk dirty to me
Me:
Dirt mud poop? Why are you so bossy?

Ron: Can’t wait to hug u and…
Me:
take me to an extremely expensive dinner?
Ron:
no

Ron: How tall r u?
Ron:
How much do u weigh
Ron:
U n shape?
Me:
Hi, how are you today? What’s the weather like in LA?
Ron:
I bet u have a great body

Yup, that screams BFF’s for life… If you’re curious about the photo he allegedly sent her. HERE but remember it’s from a “sexting convo.” It’s not safe for work or innocent eyes.

Oh and no comments about another divorced wife on Basketball Wives please. I’m sure they’ll address it. Guess that’s the “reality” of life with an athlete.
