Lakers Interested In Adding Gilbert Arenas To The Mix

Gilbert Arenas is still unemployed. The Lakers are in need of some fire power (and a true point guard but…) Sounds as if the two are toying around with the idea of bringing Arenas to the Lake Show.

League sources say that Arenas would love to join the Lakers. He grew up in Los Angeles and is interested in playing for his hometown team. He believes that he can contribute in Los Angeles’ backcourt, which currently features an aging Derek Fisher, injured Steve Blake and inexperienced Darius Morris.

Floor spacing is a problem with the Lakers but someone to rein in the offense (do we have an actual offense? I’m still waiting to see what direction Mike Brown plans to go with that) is a GAPING hole. That said, I don’t think that Gil is the answer as pg. If the idea is for more scoring then maybe. But with Kobe on your team is scoring ever really a problem?

On the plus side, then at least 2 members of Basketball Wives LA (would’ve been 3 had Kimsha not checked out midway through filming) would have active Laker player significant others. Yes, I know Matt and Gloria are broken up but I think they’ll end up back together much like Gilbert and Laura.
