Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving has been largely silent about the drama that exploded this week regarding his ex-girlfriend – singer Kehlani – and a photo of her in bed with her ex, OVO rapper PartyNext Door.
Kyrie took to Twitter on Wednesday night to say he and Kehlani weren’t together anymore, but he blamed the entire situation on PND putting out a shady photo and caption.
My only issue with this is that he says she didn’t cheat, and the post was “misunderstood,” but he was spotted liking memes on social media that were dragging her as a cheater. A simple “we broke up” tweet might not have allowed it to get to the point of Kehlani feeling so bullied that she attempted to take her own life.
Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not blaming Kyrie in any fashion. He’s not obligated to defend her to social media, and its also not his fault she was emotionally fragile enough to arrive to that point. It just seems like the scandal aspect of the photo could’ve been cleared up quickly.
