Kobe Bryant plays Beethoven in Miami [video]

The Lakers pulled it out in Charlotte on Friday night to bounce back from the beatdown that the Celtics gave them – must be something going on that says LA teams had to suffer an embarrassing nationally televised drubbing because that’s also what happened to the Clippers in Miami on Friday night.

Kobe decided when he got to Miami that he wanted to show you that his skills on the piano keys are real. He posted a video of him playing a piece of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.

Kobe didn’t score any points – or have any assists in the first half – but scored all 20 of his points in the second half and 8 assists.

Kobe said he’s self taught. He tweeted a few weeks ago that playing it calms him down when he’s at his breaking point.

Vanessa told a story on Instagram saying Mamba learned to play this to surprise her. I’m assuming this is the only piece he knows how to play.

I remember taking piano lessons as a kid and this was one of the songs you got to play when you moved from kiddie level to the big kids group recital… I just wanted to share that.
