Keyshia Cole Discovers Birth Father is Boxing Trainer Virgil Hunter

R&B singer Keyshia Cole has been very candid throughout her career about the search for her birth father.

The 34-year-old singer and reality star received good news this week. She’s found her birth father.  After taking a paternity test Cole confirmed boxing trainer Virgil Hunter is her biological dad.

The two have been getting to know each other in Oakland, Ca. – where both are from _ getting to know one another.

While in NYC I was overwhelmed with emotion, I explained while on stage at the Barclays, the situation I was faced with at that moment, which was, my father and I finding our way to each other, After 34 years. I knew at that time, a paternity test was in place, well the results are in, and this is my father!! His name is Virgil Hunter, and at this present time, I’m in Oakland spending time, getting to kno him! The story behind this is beyond me!!! God has his hands all in this!!! I’m so excited, So excited with taking this a day at a time!!!

Hunter began training boxers in Oakland while working for the probations department. Some of the fighters he’s trained include Amir Khan, Andre Ward and Andre Berto.

No word on how the two pieced the connection together. I for one would love to know how how Frankie – Keyshia’s mom – and Virgil met back in 1982.

Mom and Dad during their time…. Mommy was such a cutie.!???? pop and that mustache tho ???? LOL !!!! this is a lot to process man, WOW! They met up last night to speak for the first time in 34 years, intense for me, FOR SURE!!!! Mom usually doesn’t have nice things to say about men, but I can tell my heart pumps his blood???? God knows!! I Needed this!!! FrFr #TrulyBlessed and #TrulyThankful ????????????????????
