Moore, Oklahoma was hit by a devastating tornado on Monday, May 20th. While the Thunder were bounced out of the playoffs early, Kevin Durant stepped up to assist his NBA home state in its time of need, by quietly donating $1 million to the Red Cross.
The NBA and the players’ union also are coming together to add another $1 million donation for relief efforts in the Oklahoma City area. Plus, the Thunder’s main sponsor, Chesapeake Energy has also pledged $1 million in support. If you would like to contribute, The The Red Cross is accepting $10 pledges via text to 90999 and entering “REDCROSS.” Their website also has additional information.
