It’s been a rough year in the media for rapper Iggy Azalea. Numerous social media beefs with other rappers like Snoop Dogg and Azalia Banks, or her brand endorsers like Steve Madden, plus the cancellation of her tour. Earlier this week, her mentor, rapper TI, appeared to distance himself from Iggy when asked about her in a Hot 97 interview.
“In her defense, she had a lot thrown at her at one time,” Tip said. “Any human being anywhere gon’ have a hard time adjusting…Some stuff they brought upon themselves. In some cases it kind of was just the easiest place to put some pent-up aggression
“After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really meant to be said here is…’ After it was cool, everything was cool, and then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [accomplished]. I’ma be all the way real: I’m a loyal partner. If I rock with you I’m gon’ rock with you…I really do feel that they just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they can do. They have the talent, they have the charisma.”
Iggy responded on her Twitter account saying that Tip discussing a team issue on the radio wasn’t professional.
Sure enough, TI clarified his remarks:
and then Iggy tweeted with satisfaction.
And in other news, Iggy and Nick Young celebrated their two-year anniversary this week. The couple became engaged last June during a birthday celebration. Per Iggy, the wedding will be soon.
