Is Matt Kemp’s relationship with Rihanna impacting his play?

Earlier this week, Matt Kemp was benched for 3 games by Dodgers manager Joe Torre. Initially no explanation was offered which led to rumors circulating that the team was starting to feel as if  Matt has lost his focus since his high profile relationship with Rihanna has continued to blossom.

Now word comes that part of the reason behind the benching was an argument Matt had with bench coach Bob Schaefer last Saturday during the game against the Yankees.  Team sources say Kemp objected when  Schaefer noted that he hadn’t backed up second base on a wild throw.

Matt has denied the argument took place and he started on Wednesday against the Giants so I guess things are back to normal.

Ok Matt, don’t let Rihanna be YOUR downfall with the Dodgers!!

They make an adorable couple though!
