Gridiron Celebrity Hoops Game During Super Bowl Weekend

Ivory Tabb of Vh1’s I Want To Work For Diddy is dropping by to give you the scoop on The Gridiron Celebrity Hoops Classic that took place Super Bowl weekend in Dallas:


Saturday February  the 13th annual Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XIII classic took place at Moody arena on the SMU Campus in Dallas, TX. (Gridiron XIII) is uniquely positioned as the first and only celebrity basketball game to have ever become officially sanctioned by the National Football League and endorsed by the United States President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Now independently produced exclusively by Jam Sports & Entertainment, this preeminent event is where NFL players, prospective NFL draft picks, boxing champs, world-renowned wresters, streetballers, and celebrities from music, television, and film get together for an electric game of hoops.

This years game lived up to all the hype with many celebrities and athletes in the building to benefit Juli’s Kids Motivated to Succeed (Juli’s Kids) and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

Playing in this years game included musician Chris Brown, tight end Martellus Bennett of the Dallas Cowboys, R&B Singer Tank, wide receiver Terrell Owens of the Cincinnati Bengals, Rapper Dorrough, heavy weight champion Floyd Mayweather, corner back for Dallas Cowboys Terrance Newman, and a host of others. Not only was their plenty of celebs playing and coaching in the game but their was also plenty of them in the stands as well. Actors Jaime Fox, Tracy Morgan, Boris Kodjoe, Jackie Long and actress Joyful Drake came out to support. Singers Ray J, Chrisette Michelle and Dondria were all sitting court side as well. This event was hosted by none other than yours truly and Dawn Newfield of Football Wives.
