Gloria Govan might be the queen of Basketball Wives. Earlier this week, Govan said YES to former NBA star Derek Fisher.
Fisher, 43, proposed to Govan on April 7 in front of their children and other family members per TMZSports. The two began dating in 2015. It will be the second marriage for both. Govan was previously married to Fisher’s former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Matt Barnes. And Fisher was married to ex-wife Candice.
In late 2016 there were rumors Govan was pregnant which she quickly shut down, at that time, I noted that the relationship was getting serious and marriage was absolutely in the future.

Who is Rams football legend Marshall Faulk’s ex-wife. Faulk also happens to the father of Fisher’s first wife Candice’s oldest son… you can read more about that HERE or in my book, PostGame Pass: access into the life
For his part, Matt Barnes is taking the new engagement in stride. He congratulated the couple on Instagram, but has since deleted the post.
Barnes said that he has “two beautiful boys” from his ex-wife, Gloria Govan, and that they are focusing on “co-parenting” and “providing the best atmosphere & childhood” for the children. On his ex-teammate Fisher, who has been dating Govan in 2015, “They love him, so I love it.”
