Gilbert Arenas continues to taunt his ex-fiancée Laura Govan, through social media. On Monday it was reported that Arenas has filed documents to stop payment on his children’s $91,600 yearly private school tuition.
TMZ Sports was able to obtain family court filings where Arenas says because his infamous 2008 $111 million contract with the Washington Wizards is about to expire. He’ll only be bringing in $169,895 per year in investment income. The Orlando Magic used the amnesty clause on him in 2011 to stretch the remaining payments out over eight years. Arenas will receive the final installment on October 31st.
Arenas claims that he’s going to have to scale back his lifestyle,
“I anticipate that the children will need to transfer to public schools in 2017 and beyond.”
Arenas, reportedly made more than $160 million during his NBA career, not including his endorsement deals. One of his current ventures is allegedly a marijuana dispensary. So why can’t he afford to pay for his children’s private school? Maybe this video he posted to Snapchat that features a lot of cash and his kids will give you a clue.
No doubt Gil will alert us to the final outcome.
