Former NBA star Sebastian Telfair was arrested early Sunday morning, strapped like he was ready for war. Telfair and 18-year-old Jami Thomas were arrested after being pulled over for driving without headlights in Brooklyn.
Police discovered three loaded firearms, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, a bulletproof vest and weed inside the car. The way New York guns laws are set up, Telfair is looking at serious time. Up to 15 years on six felony charges, including criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful wearing of a body vest.
Back in 2006, Telfair was arrested for bringing a loaded gun on the Portland TrailBlazers chartered flight.
Telfair is the cousin of Stephon Marbury. He was a first-round draft pick straight from high school in 2004. While in the NBA, Telfair played with the Portland Trailblazers, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors before finishing his playing career in China in 2014.
