Floyd Mayweather Jr. Visits Paul George In Hospital [Photo]

Pacers star Paul George is recovering at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. On Saturday boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. stopped by to visit him. George had surgery to repair an open tibia-fibula fracture he suffered Friday night during a USA Basketball scrimmage.

Appreciate the champ @floydmayweather visiting me in the hospital.. Gave me some great advice and kept my spirits high!! Appreciate you once again big bro! #TBE #TMT

Friday night, Floyd posted this to his Instagram account:

Not one second should be taken for granted…the ‘present’ truly is a gift. GOD is orchestrating all of our lives. Paul George is a phenomenal player and my friend as well. I speak with him daily, so this is very personal for me. My prayers are with him & I wish him a speedy recovery. I nicknamed him PG but on the court his game is rated R!

George is expected to remain hospitalized for about three days. The Pacers reportedly would like him to come to Indiana next week to have their doctors look at George but are optimistic for a full recovery from their young star.

“What I’ve learned through this process is that it’s not ]career-ending],” Pacers general manager Kevin Pritchard told the Indianapolis Star on Saturday, when he spent time with George at the hospital. “It’s actually a good thing. It’s bone and bone only. It doesn’t look like any soft-tissue damage. We’re not trying to project when he’s coming back, just trying to get him through this week and then we’ll know more, but the biggest risk right now is infection. That looks really good right now. They just changed his dressing and it looks really good.

“I have no fear he’ll be back and back in a big way. We’re not going to put a timetable on it but I don’t think there’s any doubt he’ll be back.”
