Much like the other alleged domestic violence incident that was reported yesterday, Floyd Mayweather Jr’s situation has taken an interesting turn. Floyd was arrested today NOT on domestic violence charges but on grand larceny charges that he took items for his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris’s home.
The following are Ms. Harris’s version of events per an ESPN article:
Police had sought Mayweather for questioning Thursday about a domestic battery report filed by Josie Harris, his ex-girlfriend who recanted a similar claim in 2005, police and his lawyer had said.
Harris stated in the report that Mayweather, who shares three children with her, hit her in the head, pulled her hair and tried to break her arm, the Review-Journal reported. The order says Mayweather “let himself in” to her Las Vegas home at about 2 a.m. before looking through her some of her belongings, according to the newspaper.
Harris then confronted Mayweather, who accused her of dating another man, she stated, according to the Journal-Review.
“He would ‘have me and my guy friend taken care of,’ ” she said Mayweather told her.
But it wasn’t until after police had come and ordered Mayweather from the home at about 3 a.m. that he returned hours later and assaulted her in front of her children, the report said, having gained access through their son’s bedroom door after knocking.
Asleep on a couch, Harris woke to find Mayweather above her before he pulled her up and assaulted her, she said, according to the Las Vegas newspaper. He later left in his car, she said.
Harris was treated and released for minor injuries that night at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center.
As mentioned, this isn’t the 1st time Ms. Harris has accused Floyd of assault but she later recanted. I hate situations like this and the one with Matt Barnes. It creates a cloudy environment for women who really want and NEED help. Playing games with the law isn’t a plan, that can be a hard train to stop because you really didn’t intend for it to go so far.
And men, I can’t emphasize enough how you will never win by putting your hands on a female. Of course none of that is breaking news or an eye opening revelation yet we continue to see these situations pop up.
50 Cent took to twitter and had this to say about the incident:
Another case of angry baby mama wanting money. Police are looking for @FloydMayweather. I just got off the phone with him. She’s claiming he hit her but has no bruises. Floyd went to see his kids last night if a fighter of Floyd caliber hits u, u would b bruised.
I talked to him before and after the situation he wasn’t even upset. He said he asked her why was the house so dirty she started trippin’. He bought nice clothes for his kids they were all over the place. His baby mama said shes not gonna force them to wear clothes they don’t want. I told him that’s crazy. I know how he felt. I met her before so I told him she would calm down. Can’t believe she called the cops.
She has a girlfriend that stays in the guesthouse that Floyd is paying for her as child support that is helping fuel the situation. Floyd said he feels like her girlfriend is using her and pushing her in the wrong direction. This is crazy to me. I performed in club pure on NYE in Vegas I remember Floyd showing me a ring he bought her for $1M. Who can u trust!
This sh*t really scares me man. she’s a smart girl I talk to her a few times. I hope she just stops my stomach hurting behind this sh*t. I speak to Floyd every day he like my brother his baby’s mother did this sh*t before in 2003 dragged him to court then said he didn’t hit her.
