Over the last few years, NBA stars and their fashion selections have become a hot topic. LeBron James is one of the names that is always featured on any most fashionable athlete list, so it’s fitting he would be involved in a the first ever NBA fashion show challenge.
James’s Springhill Production Co., in association with Turner Sports and IMG, is putting together a runway presentation featuring players, models and style setters. The show will be taped on Friday inside the Hammerstein Theater in New York and will consist of three parts: dressing for the boardroom, for a night out and for the big game.
The show will feature eight players competing, who will be pared with a model and stylist. The players participating include include John Wall, James Harden, Klay Thompson, Chandler Parsons- who was recently photoed by China as the most attractive NBA player, DeMarcus Cousins and Zach LaVine. Some of the models on deck to participate, Erin Heatherton, Chanel Iman, Rachel Hilbert and Shanina Shaik.
Inside the NBA’s Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith are two of the judges – Kenny has a new style website, along with designer John Elliott, WNBA star Elena Delle Donne and GQ style editor Will Welch. Shaquille O’Neal will serve as emcee. The show will air Saturday on TNT at 6:30 PM EST
Also going down on Friday, Portland Trailblazers forward Dorell Wright and his wife Mia are celebrating the one-year anniversary of their clothing line, Scrapes and Gravel, with a pop up shop and grooming suite. Former NBA star Baron Davis will be hosting the event, with expected appearances from All-Stars Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook and Damian Lillard.
