When you’re a reality TV star and advetisers start yielding to public outrage about your “antics” on said reality show, it’s pretty easy to figure out your wrongs and act on them quickly. While that may not be the case with the recent rebuttals, apologies and change of heart that is being displayed by Basketball Wives stars, Shaunie O’Neal, Tami Roman and Evelyn Lozada, it’s an interesting coincidence. It’s been rumored that Evelyn and Jennifer make up on the upcoming reunion show. If this recent Vibe interview is any indication, sounds as if Ev may have been rethinking her actions for a minute.
Evelyn was also asked how she thought Shaunie was handling being under fire.
Now, Shaunie’s been taking a lot of heat too. What are your thoughts on that?
I’ve had conversations with Shaunie, and she is in a tough place because she wears all hats, she’s Executive Producer, a cast mate, friend to us…it’s just tough because you’re being pulled from every angle. I can honestly say that from season 1, Shaunie has been an advocate to find a balance. We filmed a charity event for kids with cancer and it was the most amazing charity event that I’ve ever went to. Even the camera men, grown men, were crying. But it didn’t make the cut and they chose to air the part with me calling someone a fu**ing b*tch instead. She’s an Executive Producer, but she doesn’t know what tapes are being sent to VH1; she doesn’t know everything that is going on. But I can guarantee you that it will look different and not only because of all the controversy, but because she’s been working so hard to find a balance.
Interesting. On the season finale, the final scene was one with Shaunie and the head of Faithful Central Church, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer. In that conversation Shaunie expressed embarrassment over the ladies antics. It felt forced and added after the controversy had begun to play out in the media but I wonder how Evelyn and Tami felt hearing her speak in that manner. If you missed it, check it out here.
