Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are teaming up with NBC to produce a fictional drama which will focus on what is widely considered the golden age of professional wrestling (1980’s).
Pro wrestling gained huge popularity in the 1980s. Some of it’s most iconic figures rose to stardom during that period including Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage aka Macho Man, and The Ultimate Warrior.
The Rock started in the WWF (later the WWE) in 1996 and shot his first film role, The Scorpion King, in 2002.
