We all know that Drake is a HUGE Kentucky basketball fan, but it turns out his love for the Wildcats and coach John Calipari is a LOT deeper than we initially thought.
The 6 God called into Calipari’s “Cal Cast” podcast to talk about his relationship with the team and he recalled his first visit to Kentucky’s campus in 2009. Drake calls Calipari a father figure and mentor.
“When I came to Lexington and I met you, I didn’t want to leave. I would’ve probably traded my life at that moment to like play Kentucky basketball and be under you … It felt like this incredible feeling.”
Considering Drake’s basketball skills, it’s a good thing he stuck with music and didn’t go hard for basketball. They still treat him like a part of the team so I guess that’s good enough.
