The police report from the Jovan Belcher-Kasandra Perkins murder-suicide has been released including several shocking details about belcher and Perkins relationship in the months leading up to their deaths.
Belcher told his other girlfriend Brittni Glass that Perkins knew how to push his buttons and that he would shoot her if she didn’t leave him alone but Glass believed him to be joking. There are also indications that the couple frequently argued about money including Perkins spending habits.
Belcher’s mother, Cheryl Shepherd, gave details of the murder, according to the report. She said she had moved in with the couple two weeks before their deaths because they were having “relationship problems due to financial issues associated with Perkins’ spending habits.” Shepherd also said that the argument that preceded Perkins’ killing “was in regard to one or both of them going out as in to a club or partying.”
Jovan Belcher shot Kasandra 5 times according to the report.
Police said in the report that they found a bullet hole in the floor under Perkins’ body that went through to the basement, possibly indicating that the victim was on the floor when she was shot. Shepherd said, according to police, that she heard a thump before the gunshots.
Police found 10 apparent gunshot wounds in the front of Perkins body and five on her back. According to the report, the medical examiner found four bullets remaining in her body.
