Chris Webber has kept his distance from Michigan since his role in the boosting scandal with Ed Martin led to sanctions for the University that included Michigan pulling down the Fab Five’s 1993 national finalist banner. But on the 20th anniversary of the “Fab Five’s” run to the NCAA finals, tthe Michigan Wolverines’ men’s basketball program was once again back in the spotlight on Monday night. Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Ray Jackson and Jimmy King were all on board to attend the game against the Louisville Cardinals. The only question mark was CWebb.
Chris showed up with his wife, Erica and opted not to join his former teammates in the stands but watched the game from a suite. He put the following message out via his Twitter account:
He also showed love to the young Wolverines on Saturday following their win.
It’s nice to see the “Fab 5” almost reunited. Jalen Rose said it would’ve been a “flagrant omission” had Chris decided not to show up.
