TNT tried something different tonight. Instead of Charles Barkley being in studio, he shared color duties with Reggie Miller during the Heat vs. Hawks game. Early in the telecast, when it seemed the game was going to be a snoozefest (Lebron and Dwade were both out nursing injuries) Chuck’s mic was still on, he shared his thoughts on why Weight Watchers is the best money making scam ever and why Atlanta needs to do everything in their power to try to get Dwight Howard.
“I’ve been on weight watchers three months.I have to lose two pounds a week. I’m at 38 pounds now. They come and weigh me every two weeks. I ain’t never missed a weigh-in. Never going to.
I’m feeling much better. But I ain’t giving away no money… I’m not giving away no free money. I thought this was the greatest scam going— getting paid for watching sports — this Weight Watchers thing is a bigger scam.”
I actually enjoyed Chuck on the broadcast. It also seemed to work better in studio with Chris Webber, Shaq, EJ and Kenny. Maybe we’re seeing a glimpse at the future.
