When the news of Brandon Marshall being traded to the Chicago Bears for two third round picks broke (1 in 2012 and 1 in 2013), it seemed to me that the Dolphins were throwing away Marshall. He hadn’t been with the team that long, the Dolphins had traded two second round picks to acquire him but, I chalked it up to the race for Peyton Manning. Marshall is reunited with Jay Cutler who he played with in Denver and everyone is happy.
Now there is news that Marshall and possibly his wife, were involved in an altercation outside of a New York nightclub on Sunday and he’s being accused of punching a woman in her eye.
A lawyer for Marshall told the Post that Marshall was not involved in the fight.
Hmmmm, someone’s story isn’t adding up. Here’s the part where I state that I’m unsure if the Dolphins or the Bears for that matter, had knowledge of the incident when the trade happened. For the Bears, coming off of the Sam Hurd incident, it seems obvious that they wouldn’t want this type of attention on one of their players.
For now, the assumption will be that the situation is exactly as described by Marshall’s lawyer
