BET to pick up Gabrielle Union’s “Being Mary Jane” pilot

Congratulations are in order for Dwyane Wade’s “Lady Love” Gabrielle Union. The actress shot a pilot for BET titled ‘Being Mary Jane” and it’s been picked up for a season. Per Deadline, the show is scheduled to begin production in January in Atlanta.

The premise of the show follows successful talk show host Mary Jane Paul (Union) looking to become the No.1 nightly news anchor while searching for Mr. Right.  Latarsha Rose and Omari Hardwick co-starred in the pilot.

Union is currently vacationing in Europe with DWade and suspect we’ll see them along with Chris Bosh and his wife Adrienne during Team USA basketball’s quarterfinals game later today.
