Bengals WR, Jerome Simpson home was the final destination for a 2.5 pound package of Cali marijuana that was shipped from Sacramento. A woman, identified as Aleen Smith, 27, accepted the package Tuesday at Simpson’s home.
Authorities searched the home after receiving permission from Simpson and found another 6 pounds of weed plus related paraphernalia like scales, smoking devices and packing materials. It is believed the home was set up as a distribution center. Simpson’s teammate, Anthony Collins was also at the home when the package was delivered.
Authorities are still figuring out what agency will handle a possible prosecution and next steps. Any of a number of federal, local or state agencies in California or Kentucky could take over the case. The Bengals are aware of incident but haven’t issues any comments.
Maybe I’m naive but when was it “safe” to send weed through the mail?
