Christine Vendel of the Kansas City Star reports that the autopsy results of Jovan Belcher revealed that he was legally drunk at the he killed himself and just after he murdered his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins.  The results indicated that his blood-alcohol level was at about .17 at his death.  This was just about five hours after he was approached by police while he was sleeping in his vehicle outside another female companion’s home.

Kasandra Perkins’ autopsy showed very little alcohol and no illegal drugs.  The autopsy also revealed the gruesome way in which Belcher murdered her.  She was shot nine times, including a wound to her right hand, indicating that she was possibly trying to block the gun shot as Belcher initially fired the weapon at her.  She was also shot four times while on the floor being struck in the neck, chest, hip, and back.  Bullets passed through her liver, kidney, spleen, and through parts of her backbone.

Belcher and Perkins were definitely having issues in their relationship, but murdering the mother of your child in front of your daughter and your own mother is the one of most despicable act anyone could ever imagine.  Hopefully, their daughter will be able to grow up and have some kind of a normal life and his mother is able to be their for her, given what she witnessed.
