Dallas Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown Jr. was sober when was killed in a car crash on December 8th. Brown was the passenger in a car driven by his friend and teammate, Josh Brent. Brent’s blood alcohol was twice the legal limit the night of the accident.
Brown died of head and neck trauma when their vehicle overturned. He had a dislocated neck, a severely bruised spine and a blood alcohol content of 0.056 percent.
Also key, neither was wearing a seat belt. Brent has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and is currently free on $100,000 bond. Brown’s mother, Stacey Jackson as said she’s forgiven Brent but, that didn’t stop a disapproving murmur to erupt when Brent was spotted on the sidelines of a Cowboys home game against the Steelers, two weeks after the accident. Both the NFL and the Cowboys felt the move was inappropriate according to sources.
