Adrian Peterson’s 2-year old son passes away following assault

Adrian Peterson’s 2-year-old son, not Adrian Peterson Jr., has passed away after being beaten, allegedly by his mother’s new boyfriend, 27-year-old Joseph Patterson. Per TMZ, the mother of the child has decided to donate the child’s organs to people in need. Emergency responders responded to a 911 call from the home where the boy was living with his mother and her boyfriend.

Details per Minneapolis Tribune reporter Chip Scoggins:

Patterson was previously linked to domestic violence cases involving children:

Patterson’s suspended sentence on two domestic abuse cases. The first involved an assault on the mother of his own child and another of her children, the other arose from his refusal to abide by a judge’s order that he have no contact with them.

Patterson was indicted on several counts of simple assault involving the woman and her 3-year-old son in June of 2012.

Earlier on Friday Peterson indicated he would play on Sunday but that was prior to the son’s passing. Sending love, light and Prayers to Adrian and his family and his son’s family.
