Aaron Hernandez’s girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins charged with perjury

Welp, The Bristol County District Attorney’s office has announced that Aaron Hernandez’s girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins has been charged with perjury. Shayanna is accused of lying to the grand jury that eventually indicted Hernandez for first-degree murder.

The DA has cited documents and text messages as evidence. Investigators believe Jenkins knows the whereabouts of the gun used to kill Odin Lloyd. During Hernandez’s indictment, prosecutors mentioned that at one point Jenkins was cooperating with police but suddenly stopped.

Also indicted, Hernandez’s cousin Tanya Singelton was charged with conspiracy to accessory after the fact, for her role in helping Ernest Wallace flee the state after Lloyd’s murder. She’s accused of driving him to Georgia, then buying him a bus ticket to Florida.

In related news, one of Hernandez’s alleged accomplices, Carlos Ortiz, was indicted on a count of accessory to murder after the fact. The other accused accomplice, Ernest Wallace pleaded not guilty on Thursday to a similar charge.
