It’s starting to look bleak for Aaron Hernandez, as the prosecution has flipped his fiancé to testify against the former Patriots football star.
According to PFT, prosecutors have granted Hernandez’s fiancé, Shayanna Jenkins, immunity in exchange for her testimony against Hernandez. Odds are she will name Hernandez as the triggerman who murdered Odin Lloyd.
Jenkins couldn’t use spousal privilege, which would have protected her from testifying, as she and Hernandez never officially married. So anything he said to her can and will be used against him at trial.
The prosecution had charged Jenkins with perjury and accused her of lying to the grand jury, so it is likely Hernandez’s defense team will attack his fiance’s credibility.
If he wasn’t already, Hernandez is definitely climbing an uphill battle now.
