A groupie tale starring Nuggets center JaVale McGee

If you follow me on Twitter – and well you should be, because I am awesomeness personified – you know that I frequently point out athlete’s “Bird calls.” What’s a bird call? It’s when an athlete hits a city and you see tweets like “wheels up next stop Miami” or “LA what’s poppin.” There’s more but you get the general idea. With the advancement of social media, athletes as well as the FedEx guy have an easier route to sex with a variety of women.  I like to refer to this as “dial and deliver .” It’s like take out, your followers are the menu and you jump in the DM’s of the one you want delivered to you.

We’ve seen several examples of high profile Twitter dating. Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada met on Twitter. Yeah, I know how that turned out but, don’t blame that part on social networking, anyway. Rapper Juelz Santana met his chick, Kimbella via Twitter also. So of course, while the guys may be looking for easy sex, the females might be having visions of Cinderella meeting her prince via DM.

Here’s an example of one of those chicks. Ayana Marie was scooped via Twitter by Nuggets center JaVale McGee. After five months of texting, skyping etc. she finally allowed JaVale to “fly her out” to Houston while he was there working out with Hakeem. But the trip didn’t go as planned, while McGee got his needs met (3 times,) Ayana couldn’t even get him to bring her Chipotle  back to the room – cold world.

After 5 months I finally agreed to meet him on August 8th. I waited that long to be sure that he wasn’t just looking for a jumpoff. I also thought this was a big deal for him because according to Javale he doesn’t fly “bit**es,” out in the offseason.

My flight was delayed, so I got there late, I was hoping to have some time to chill, but as soon as we got inside the room he wanted to sex.

Eventually, we did have sex and I sort of understood since he had waited 5 months to see me, but he immediately started acting odd.

He decided to sleep on the couch instead of the bed with me.

He also said he had practice early in the morning and when I awoke he was already gone.

He came back midday, once again said he was tired and was going to take a nap. That was fine I went to take a walk, but to my surprise while I was walking around I see him outside walking as well.

When I got back to the room he had bought  Chipotle for himself and none for me. Petty as it may seem, it’s the little things that count. Once again I thought his behavior was cold, but I was really trying hard to make this work, even though he was acting like he didn’t really want anything to do with me.

You get the idea. I know 5 months may seem like a long time to be “emotionally vested” but keep in mind, while he’s texting and skyping with YOU, there are also at least 2 to 5 others in that rotation as well. I can’t knock her for developing feelings but, just like athletes will run that line about being cautious because of their status – true but let’s not act like they don’t use that as a catch-all excuse – YOU have got to be cautious because of their status too. But here’s the thing, now you see why SOME women advocate getting a gift of some sort. These guys won’t hesitate to demand sex from you, it’s up to you to decipher what makes the trip “worth it.”  An athlete once told me he “treats them like he meets them.”  I don’t know what a Twitter introduction is worth on the common courtesy and respect scale but, I’d bet not being on World Star popping your butt MIGHT be worth an extra point or two…
