Last week in San Jose, California, 49’ers star Vernon Davis opened his first art gallery aptly named, “Gallery 85.” The purpose, to support his “Vernon Davis Art Foundation.”
In addition to featuring his own art, Davis enlisted local artists as well with much of the work focused on Davis.
There were also pieces by youth served by San Jose-based Unity Care and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as well as East Palo Alto resident Niyjale Cummings, the most recent recipient of the Vernon Davis Visual Arts Scholarship.
“This is something I’ve been building toward for years,” Davis said of the gallery. The event was also attended by Niners teammates Frank Gore and DaShon Goldson.
