After six seasons with the Patriots, Wes Welker is leaving Tom Brady for Peyton Manning. Welker and the Denver Broncos agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $12 million. According to reports, the full contract is guaranteed.
In six seasons with the Patriots, Welker was consistently one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, catching more than 110 passes in five different seasons.
The Patriots clearly had moved on from Welker, offering him a “laughable” contract and then signing former Rams receiver Danny Amendola to a five-year-$30 million deal. Basically the same deal Welker just signed with the Broncos plus 3 years.
