Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha signed a one-day contract on Friday with the Oakland Raiders to announce his retirement. For over 11 years, Asomugha was amply rewarded for his sterling play. He was twice assigned the franchise tag and earned $45.4 million over the next three years under Raiders owner Al Davis before landing $25 million more in guarantees following the 2011 lockout.
But if the rumors are correct, Nnamdi isn’t making a smooth transition into post-career bliss with wife, “Scandal” star Kerry Washington. Bossip claims the two are having issues regarding Kerry’s work schedule.
Let’s hope these rumors turn out to be false.
