Admit it Titans fans, this isn’t what you expected when RB Chris Johnson ended his hold out with the team and signed for $53.5 million over the next four seasons- $30 million of it guaranteed. The Titans are struggling to win and Johnson is having a hard time racking up yards.
Going into NFL week 7, the Titans are last (as in team #32) in rushing. CJ is averaging 64 yards a game. He’s also ranked last in running backs who average at least 50 touches with 2.9 yards per carry. My first thought, how rusty was Johnson coming back to the team following his hold out? What was his offseason like since the NFL was locked out, and not involved in his training. But, that’s me. After this Sunday’s mauling courtesy of the Texans (41-7) where Chris Johnson had 10 carries for 18 yards-and was BOOED like crazy. CJ has a different theory :
Yikes, so whose fault is it then? People often forget that when you want franchise $$, franchise responsibilities accompany those funds. Leaders, LEAD.
