It’s been 21 years since an NFL team was in Los Angeles. Tuesday night, the city of angels received one and a possible. It’s official, the St. Louis Rams are returning to LA.
NFL owners voted an overwhelming 30 to 2 in favor of allowing the Rams to return to Los Angeles beginning in the 2016 season. The Rams made LLA home from 1946 to 1994. This time, the Rams will be located in the “City of Champions,” Inglewood. The new stadium- scheduled to be opened in 2019- will be located next door to the Lakers old home, The Forum at the location of the old Hollywood Racetrack.
Earlier in the day, the six-member NFL relocation committee recommended the joint bid between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers to build a $1.7 billion stadium in Carson. The Chargers have the option to join the Rams in Inglewood or remain in San Diego. The Raiders withdrew their bid and are still seeking a permeant home.
I need a Rams starter jacket stat! I wonder when the cheerleader auditions are.
