Shine Bright: Geno Smith chooses Roc Nation Sports [photos]

It’s the ROC for New York Jets new draft pick, Geno Smith. On Wednesday, Smith ended his search for representation with the announcement that he’s rolling with Jay Z’s “Roc Nation Sports.”

Smith parted ways with his first agent, Select Sports just days after the draft. In selecting Roc Nation Sports, Smith said it wasn’t about an “image thing.” Roc Nation Sports has recently retained their own in-house agent, Kim Miale who will serve as his contract agent. Smith has yet to sign a deal with the Jets.

“I think it’s a good move,” Smith said Wednesday, according to the New York Daily News. “My family is comfortable with it. I’m comfortable with it.”

Roc Nation Sports’ move to bring in Miale puts their relationship with CAA in question. If they are bringing on board their own agents, how much longer will they need their association with CAA. That will be something to keep an eye on.

In the meantime, Geno Smith, “Shine bright like a diamond.”
