CBS NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe weighed in Sunday on the topic of players in the Miami Dolphins locker room allegedly allowing Richie Incognito to use the N word and labeling him an “honorary black man.” Sharpe believes that this is an indicator of a bigger problem taking place.
One thing that is all but assured with this situation, the “culture” of NFL locker rooms is about to undergo a massive change. You have to wonder in a sport such as football, that is largely based on brutality, especially when you’re covering the lineman positions. How do you go about the process to train some of these guys in sensitivity when it comes to a teammate. To understand when a joke has crossed a line even though no one is speaking up to object to it.
So many layers to this story.
